SR: Rough Cut 4

This is the 4th rough cut that I created for our track Throne. It contains 2 minutes and 30 seconds worth of footage. 

Some of the things that I have changed include to switch the narrative around so that it is a more linear narrative rather than fragmented narrative. 

Besides that I added in some more pool footage, because it is a good element of the music video as well as the color powder. I changed the look of the pool scenes by adding an effect called Tint, whereafter I then changed the color slightly so it would look more realistic and as if it was an ocean. Andrew Goodwin's theory on 6 features of a music video outlines that one of the main features of a music video is that there is a link between the visuals and the lyrics. This is what I intended to create with the pool scenes. There are several times where the singer is singing about "lost in the ocean" or "blue", which then fits well with the underwater footage. 

Also, I took some of the running scenes out because some audience had argued that there were too many running scenes. I also tried to edit more to the beat and bring in some of our green screen footage that we filmed last Tuesday. My post on green screen goes into detail about what exactly we did that day and which type of footage we got.

SR: PRODUCTION SCHEDULE Update #4

This is the 4th production schedule I created and updated. It includes the tasks that we have completed so far, and the ones which are still to be completed. I always like to use color coding since it gives me a great overview of what still needs to be done. 

We have changed our idea and chosen a new track, which means that we need to re-shoot everything after Christmas. This production schedule shows the dates for after Christmas on when we will film.

DIGIPAK #4: Back cover

For the back cover we are thinking of using a photo that we captured when we where filming the narrative.

The photo is of the singer facing the sun, with the sunlight hitting the camera creating lens flair over his shoulder. We will edit this photo using photoshop to change the colour along with the other photos we decide to use.

The other photos we are planning to use we will have to take later on, this was the only picture we already had which we think will look good.

UPDATE: From feedback we where given this picture would work better as an inner panel as it gives opportunity to edit other pictures in the bricks and also have words be agains the wall.

PRACTICE MUSIC VIDEO #4 Change of plans

As we have had some delaying issues we have had to make some decisions to get the filming done as soon as possible. As the deadline is this Friday (30th Sep), we have planned to do the filming we need to to the 2 media lessons on Wednesday (28th Sep). This will mean we have 1 or 2 days to edit. To get this done we have had to change the main actor to me and change some of the scenes as the class room we had originally planed to use isn't available any more.
